Fundraising

Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we were able to set up in-person fundraising events to raise money for our rescue animals that needed so much treatment, support, medical intervention and so much more

When COVID-19 pandemic started, our fundraising had to stop and we had struggled, and still struggle, to raise the necessary funds for our gorgeous rescue animals that come to Lulubells Rescue who need us.

Right now, we will be doing multiple active fundraising via our social media platforms to help support our work and to continue rescuing the animals that need us right now.

Check out our current fundraising stories and if you can, any amount of financial donation will go directly to supporting the rescue animals. We understand that times are hard and if you can't financially donate, do share to your friends and family.

Lupa and Nougat

A beautiful kitten called Nougat (aka Cheddar) came into the rescue. He had been found beside his mum who had sadly passed away. He was just 2 weeks old and far too young to survive alone and so he came to us to be hand-reared.

It just so happens, at that time, that we already had a foster cat mum with us who has an equally sad story and had been with us for a while. She was found in an Ikea bag with some kittens. The bag was full of water and already most of the litter had died. She came to us with her 1 remaining kitten but sadly it was too weak and poorly to make it and it too passed away leaving mum Lupa (aka Evie) grieving for her lost kittens.

Once we had made sure that Nougat was healthy, we decided to slowly introduce him to Lupa. Apart from a few grumbles from Lupa at the beginning, the two soon began to bond to the point that Lupa took over cleaning Nougat and Nougat latched to Lupa.

Out of the blue, Nougat crashed. A mad dash to Medivet Hendon, and an emergency admission, left Lupa once again pining for her kitten. Nougat was floppy and in a bad way with a suspected Liver Shunt. He was put in an incubator, on a drip and catheterised, and had many tests done.

As you can imagine, as the days went on, the bills started mounting up. We carried on and a few days later, he came home on a special diet and with lots of meds.

Not long after, we received the most amazing news, Nougat did NOT have a Liver Shunt. We still need to find out why he crashed so suddenly and so severely. It could be neurological, the result of a virus or for another reason, so the tests continue but at least, most probably, it can now be managed.

This is where we need your help! We can't do it alone. We have run up a large bill at the vets for Cheddar with more to come. If you can help us, we need to raise at least £1000 to pay the vets.

We know it is a big ask, especially at this time of year but the animals still need us all.

We appreciate any donation, big or small!

Kennel Facility

We all need a home. We all have the right to feel safe and secure. At Lulubells, we desperately need to establish a temporary home for the animals we have rescued who are waiting to be fostered, adopted or released back into the wild.
